The Strategic Partnership and Intellectual Property Advisory Committee (SPIPAC) provides high level recommendations on policy, strategic direction and operational implementation related to strategic partnership and technology transfer issues and activities. The SPIPAC serves as a partnership among Laboratory organizations and is led by the Deputy Laboratory Director for Research (DLDR) and includes representatives from the scientific Areas and relevant operations units.
The committee:
- Assures that Area needs are met;
- Provides operational performance feedback;
- Identifies new Area initiatives that require SPO and/or IPO support; and
- Reviews major strategic partnership and technology transfer policy and business practice Initiatives;
- Encourages lab-wide buy-in and active cross-functional participation; and
- Identifies and makes recommendations for participation of others (eg. Legal, OCFO, OIAI)
The committee meets every month.
